The Launch Pad Manuscript Competition in Partnership with Ridley Scott is Thrilled to Announce the Top 10 Manuscripts of 2016
0Following several months of submissions, reading, and re-reading entries from 24 countries around the world, we, along with our partners Ridley Scott, Inkshares publishing, and Energy Entertainment, are thrilled to announce the fourth round of finalists in our inaugural Launch Pad Manuscript Competition.
Selected by our judges, readers, and exclusive partners, the Top 10 brings us one step closer to the finish line, as next week on Tuesday, November 29 we announce the Overall Launch Pad Competition Winners, as well as Ridley Scott’s Guaranteed Option Winner for Scott Free, Brooklyn Weaver’s Guaranteed Signing Winner for Energy Entertainment, and the Mentorship Program from our esteemed mentors Alexandra Monir, Armand Baltazar, and Mike Mongo. And finally, on December 16, our publishing partner Inkshares will announce the Inkshares/Launch Pad Publishing Winners, who will be published and available in bookstores as early as 2017.
The competition drew an audience from all around the world, with entries coming from countries as close as Canada and Mexico, to as far as Macedonia, Guinea-Bissau, Singapore, Belarus, and New Zealand amongst others. The Top 10 finalists hail from the United States.
This fourth round of finalists includes a few recognizable names, including writers who have appeared on annual “best of” lists such as The Black List; writers who have placed in prestigious competitions such as the Nicholl Fellowship, Sundance Labs, and the Austin Film Festival; writers who have seen their work on screen in shows such as Suddenly Susan and Partners; writers for networks like NBC, Fox, and Nickelodeon; writers who have received several stars from the late Roger Ebert; and even a few writers who have earned Emmy Nominations along the way.
This year’s finalists not only represent a spectrum in terms of experience and geography, but they also come to us from an incredibly wide range of careers. Stemming from Fortune 500 companies to startups, college professors to college students, architects, political analysts, playwrights, lawyers, artists, farmers, journalists, directors, bartenders, staff writers, moms, dads, and everything in between. Collectively, these writers and their stories truly are a representation of what storytelling means to the world.
So, without further ado, we are incredibly excited to announce the fourth round of finalists for our inaugural Launch Pad Manuscript Competition.
