“The Office” Grad Rainn Wilson Boards “Star Trek: Discovery”

He’s famous for playing Dwight Schrute on The Office but actor is about to be known for taking over the role of Harry Mudd on STAR TREK: DISCOVERY. The character was originated by Roger C. Carmel in the 19602 Star Trek series.

Harry Mudd, short for Harcourt Fenton Mudd, is a conman and intergalactic criminal. The new series will air on CBS All Access and features a new ship, new characters, and new missions.

CBS Television Studios is producing in association with Secret Hideout, Living Dead Guy Productions, and Gene Roddenberry Entertainment. Executive producers are Alex Kurtzman, Bryan Fuller, Heather Kadin, Gretchen J. Berg, Aaron Harberts, Akiva Goldsman, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth.

Since the end of The Office, Wilson has starred as the title character in Backstrom and lended his voice to Smurfs: The Los Village and Adventure Time. He also created the media and production company Soul Pancake.
