The Tracking Board Offers New Open Pitch Sessions with Roadmap Writers
0The Tracking Board is excited to announce another opportunity with Roadmap Writers for screenwriters to pitch their script to some of the best Hollywood executives in the business. Both film and television writers will have the opportunity to book a verbal or written pitch with the executive of their choice for just $25. The verbal pitch will be an 8 minute Skype or phone call, while the written option requires a two-page max pitch.
This is truly a one-of-a-kind opportunity that allows writers to get feedback from seasoned veterans in the industry.
Writers simply need to visit the Roadmap Writers & Tracking Board page, choose their executive, and sign up at the desired time. These sessions will be happening in three-hour blocks per executive on Saturday, October 22, Sunday, October 23, and Sunday, October 30.
Below are the six available executives.
Jared Iacino, VP Film and Development at Panay Films
Jared’s work at Panay Film has led him to help develop hit films like Hit & Run, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, and Earth to Echo. Previously, he worked on critically acclaimed films such as The Devil Wears Prada, Juno, The Proposal, and The Muppets.
He specializes in features of all budgets (drama, comedy, sci-fi, action, adventure, fantasy, thriller) as well as TV pilots on network, cable, and digital (comedy, sci-fi, action, adventure, thriller.). The themes and formats Jared focuses on are coming-of-age, revenge, futuristic, post-apocalyptic, sports, road trip, “buddy,” inspirational, true stories, biopics, YA, female-driven, crime, psychological, high-concept, and adaptations of books, graphic novels, and documentaries.
Jared’s session will be on Saturday, October 22 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm PST.
Sean Berard, Agent at APA
Sean has worked at APA as a feature literary agent for the past three years developing writers, directors, and authors.
He specializes in sci-fi, action, adventure, fantasy, thriller, and horror, for features of all budgets and drama and comedy TV pilots fot network, cable, and digital. His preferred themes and formats are futuristic, inspirational, true stories, biopics, YA, female-driven, crime/true crime, psychological, high concept, and adaptations of graphic novels.
Sean’s session will be on Saturday, October 22 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm PST.
Chris Deckard, Coordinator at ICM
Chris’ pitch tips center around strong characters and character-driven dramatic tension. He also prefers a concept that can be explained in 1-2 sentences.
He works with features (all budgets) in the genres of drama, sci-fi, action, thriller, and horror as well as and television (cable and digital) in the genres of drama and thriller. His preferred themes are coming-of-age, revenge, futuristic, post-apocalyptic, inspirational, true stories, biopics, and female-driven.
His session will be on Saturday, October 22 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm PST.
Colin Scully, Story Executive at Energy Entertainment
Colin has been working in the industry since 2012, first starting at James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment. He joined Energy in 2014 and also works at UTA on the side, consulting with them on various scripts. He believes there’s something great about every script.
He specializes in both features (all budgets) and TV pilots (network, cable, and digital) in the genres of drama, sci-fi, action, adventure, fantasy, thriller, and horror. His preferred genres are futuristic, post-apocalyptic, female-driven, crime, psychological, high-concept, and adaptations of books and graphic novels.
His session will be on Sunday, October 23 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm PST.
David Burgis, Development Coordinator at Legendary Entertainment
David specializes in new media and low-budget projects at Legendary, developing microbudget genre features and Grammy-winning comedy specials.
In that vein, he has a specific focus on features with budgets up to $30MM in the genres of comedy, sci-fi, adventure, fantasy, thriller, and horror. He also works with TV pilots for cable and digitals in the genres of drama, sci-fi, adventure, fantasy, and thriller.
David focuses on themes and formats of futuristic, post-apocalyptic, road trip, YA, animation, children’s programming, and adaptations of graphic novels.
His session will be on Sunday, October 23 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm PST.
Natalie Goldberg, Assistant to Producer at Gloria Sanchez Productions
Before working at Gloria Sanchez, focusing on female-driven films such as Sleeping with Other People and television content, Natalie worked at both UTA and Innovative Artists. She has a degree in playwriting from UCLA.
Her specialty lies in features of all budgets in the genres of drama, comedy, romcom, and thriller, as well as TV pilots for network, cable, and digital in the genres of drama and comedy.
Natalie focuses on themes and formats of coming-of-age, revenge, true stories, YA, female-driven, crime, psychological, and adaptations of books.
Her session will be on Sunday, October 30 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm PST.
