Weinstein Company TV Division Being Sold To ITV In Major Deal

The Weinstein Company is currently finalizing a deal to sell their television division to the major British broadcasting company ITV. The companies are currently sorting out the details of the takeover. Weinstein TV would still serve as the managers of the company, with new execs. hired on to focus on the growth of the company. 

Weistein TV has produced a number of popular programs, including Mob Wives on VH1 and Myrtle Manor on TLC. The company has upcoming projects, including a Scream series for MTV. Weinstein also brought the BBC series Peaky Blinders to Netflix for the U.S. release. It has been reported that both companies are working together to launch a new fashion network. ITV has been purchasing television production companies for the past three years, building up their empire. They have notably acquired Talpa, the studio behind the British version of The Voice
