Katie Cassidy is set to return to DC series ARROW as the Black Canary doppelganger known as Black Siren. She originally starred on the show since its first season as Laurel Lance, taking on the Canary mantle after the “death” of her sister, but then the Lance character was also killed off. she has appeared occasionally as the alternate Earth metahuman but will return in season six as a series regular once again.
STITCHERS has booked YouTube star Anna Akana for a recurring role. The series stars Emma Ishta as Kirsten Clark, a highly intelligent and persistent, with an aptitude for technology but never expected that she’d be hacking into the minds of the recently deceased. Recruited into a covert government agency to be “stitched” into the memories of the dead, Kirsten and the Stitchers team investigate murders and decipher mysteries that otherwise would have gone to the grave. Akana has been cast as Amanda, a cool and confident medical examiner who starts working with the Stitchers team and has an instant spark with Camille.
Sci-fi drama WESTWORLD has promoted Louis Herthum from recurring guest star to series regular for season two. The series takes place in a western world where real life people live out their fantasies opposite life-like robots called “hosts.” Herthum plays Peter Abernathy, the host father of Dolores, played by Evan Rachel Wood.
Paramount Network drama WACO has added Andrea Riseborough, Rory Culkin, Paul Sparks, and Shea Whigham to the cast that already includes Michael Shannon and Taylor Kitsch. The project tells the story of the 51-day 1993 standoff between the FBI, ATF and David Koresh’s spiritual sect, The Branch Davidians, in Waco, Texas, that resulted in a deadly fire. It explores the true life details leading up to and chronicling the standoff told from several perspectives of those most intimately involved in both sides of the conflict. Riseborough has been cast as Judy, wife of Steve Schneider, who reluctantly sacrifices her marriage to show devotion to David Koresh. Culkin has been cast as David Thibodeau, a young musician who joins Koresh’s band. Sparks has been cast as Schneider. Whigham has been cast as the tactical commander of the FBI, known within the Bureau for his bravado.
