Scream alum Tom Maden is set as a lead in CBS’ hybrid comedy pilot 25. The series centers on twentysomething Kyle (Matt Shively), who comes to Austin to finally convince his old best friend from camp, Kate (Emily Osment), that they are perfect for each other. Unfortunately, she just got engaged. A lot of guys would give up; Kyle is not one of those guys. But to Kyle’s surprise, even though he came to town looking for “the one,” he might end up with much more than that. Maden will play Jimmy, Kate’s long-term boyfriend. Sincere and genuinely nice, Jimmy just proposed to Kate — just as Kyle walked onto the scene. Jimmy welcomes Kyle to town with open arms, unaware that Kyle is angling to steal his fiancée away from him.
The Carmichael Show alumna Amber Stevens West is set as the female lead in CBS’ untitled multi-camera comedy pilot. The untitled comedy revolves around Peter (Damon Wayans) and Claire (West), a thirtysomething couple who are tired of their mundane life and start to reconnect with their younger, cooler selves when an emerging pop star (Felix Mallard), who is drawn to their super-normal suburban life, moves in. West’s Claire is happily married to Peter (Wayans), the business manager of 20-year-old music superstar Cooper (Mallard). She’s a little concerned when Cooper comes to stay with them, particularly since Cooper’s exuberant young personality and lifestyle are a big contrast to their more tame and settled one.
Former iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove has joined CBS’ high-profile multi-camera/hybrid comedy pilot HISTORY OF THEM. The series revolves around two friends, Luna (Villafañe) and Adam (Dier), and how they fell in love, using the couple’s social media (Instagram/Twitter/FB) as a guide.Cosgrove will narrate the pilot in the voice of the daughter.
Amy Rutberg is set to play a recurring role in the ABC reboot pilot GET CHRISTIE LOVE. Rutberg will play Danielle Moran, a.k.a. “Silver Manicure,” described as beautiful, mysterious and calculating. Targeting Christie Love (Kylie Bunbury), she can anticipate the CIA agent’s actions in a way that suggests a shared past.
The Leftovers alumna Amanda Warren and Unsane‘s Colin Woodell are set for starring roles in the upcoming series THE PURGE for USA Network. Warren will play Jane. A dedicated and hardworking finance professional who is convinced that she’s hit an insurmountable glass ceiling at her firm, so she hires a Purge-assassin. Woodell will portray Rick. After a lifetime of bootstrapping, he finally is climbing the social ladder. Sophia Di Martino (Flowers) and Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Downward Dog) are set as the leads in GIRLS CODE, a half hour women in the workplace comedy. The pilot follows the odd couple partnership between two former MIT lab partners – Wendy (Di Martino), a brazen, self-centered tech CEO and Angela (Howell-Baptiste), a community-building social entrepreneur – who must try to overcome their many issues and unfavorable history with each other in order to run a groundbreaking, all-female tech incubator.
