Universal to Explore Obama’s White House Through Stenographer’s Eyes in “From the Corner of the Oval”

has optioned former White House stenographer ’s book proposal and partnered with and to produce the feature adaptation, the Tracking Board has confirmed.

Described as a workplace comedy, From the Corner of the Oval follows a young woman living in Washington D.C. who is at an all-time career low when, through a twist of fate, she goes from serving cocktails to lobbyists to being hired as a stenographer in Obama’s White House. The ultimate fish out of water, she stumbles into an elite world and finds herself navigating a series of misadventures in life and love.

The book was preempted by Spiegel & Grau, a division of Random House Publishing Group, and is expected to be published in 2018.

Oscar winner (Spotlight) will produce for Anonymous along with and . Universal executives  and will oversee the project for the studio.
