| Why to Read: | The best part about this pilot by far is its premise and its world, which is something never before seen in movies or TV. The idea is incredibly fresh and unique, and the writer does a great job setting up the world and letting the reader experience it firsthand through Connie’s eyes. It’s so creative seeing the various neighborhoods of this version of New York, from Vikingtown to the Mayan community, to a Chinatown that’s wholly different than the one an audience may be used to. Seeing it play out on screen will surely be a sight to behold, with sweeping cinematic visuals. Grounding it all with a serial killer story helps bridge the gap to this fantastical world with a gritty real world element, all with skill and excitement. |
