WEEKEND BOX OFFICE (05.12.14) – “Neighbors” Moves In To Top Spot
0“Neighbors” entered the Top 5 this weekend in #1 with $51 million, knocking “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” to #2. That film earned $37.2 million and dropped almost 60% from last weekend’s numbers. “The Other Woman” enjoys its third week in the top 5, bringing in another $9.2 and “Heaven Is For Real” garnered $7 million in its fourth weekend, helping its already impressive total for a film that had a $12 million budget. Just squeezing into the #5 position over “Rio 2” was “Captain America,” with $5.6 million. This is sure to be The Captain’s final week in the top five with “Godzilla” stomping into theaters on Friday, though I have no doubt it has at least another 5 weeks in theaters to grow that domestic total.
