He joins Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer and Andi Matichak, who will play the three generations of Strode women who must fight for their lives and do battle against the walking evil known as Michael Myers.
Patton will play a cop in the horror movie, which Universal will release in October.
Green, who’s coming off the excellent and underrated drama Stronger, is directing from a script he co-wrote with Danny McBride. Jason Blum and Malek Akkad are producing for Blumhouse and Trancas International Films, respectively, and Miramax is also a producer on the project. Green and McBride are executive producing under their Rough House Pictures banner along with original Halloween creator John Carpenter, who will contribute music to the horror movie.
Patton is a beloved character actor who started out with early roles in Silkwood, After Hours, and Desperately Seeking Susan. But the movies that I know and love Patton in range from Copycat and The Client to Armageddon and The Mothman Diaries. He had quite a run in the ’90s, and it’s good to see him find his way into one of 2018’s most intriguing films.
