Congratulations to three-time Launch Pad Alum John Wikstrom whose Hit List / Black List script AMA: ASK ME ANYTHING has attached Zelda Williams to direct with Assemble Media’s Jack Heller producing.
Zelda is the daughter of the late Robin Williams and his second wife, Marsha Williams. She most recently directed the short, Shrimp, which premiered at the 2018 Tribeca TV Festival. The short featured familiar faces such as Frances Conroy, Sasha Lane, and Taika Waititi. Gunpowder and Sky have signed a deal with Williams to develop the short into a half-hour television series, in which she will write, direct, produce, and star.
Hailing from Florida State University, Wikstrom is no stranger to The Tracking Board. He reached the top rounds of the Launch Pad Feature Competition three consecutive years, starting with his comedy MANSHOWER in 2015, JESSE’S GIRL in 2016 which additionally was chosen as the Twin Padres Guaranteed Option Winner by director/producer Jeremy Garelick, and THE HATCHLING in 2017. His success didn’t stop there. His script AMA: ASK ME ANYTHING landed on both the 2018 Hit List and Black list while also helping him secure a spot on the 2018 Young & Hungry List.
Heller and Scott Veltri will produce through Assemble Media with Romark Entertainment’s Rock Shaink and Dash Aiken serving as executive producers alongside Assemble’s Brendan Deneen.
Wikstrom is represented by David Boxerbaum, Nicholas Mohebbi, and Kyle Jensen of Verve, Rock Shaink and Dash Aiken of Romark Entertainment, and Jake Wagner and Scott Stoops of Good Fear Content. Williams is represented by Frank Wuliger of Gersh and manager Melinda Jason.
