Oscar winning producer John Ridley has been set by ABC to develop a new, currently unknown Marvel series. The network currently produces Marvel’s Agents of Shield, and recently aired the Agent Carter mini-series. While being kept under wraps, the project has been described as a re-invention of an already existing Marvel super hero property. The network also currently has an Agents Of Shield spinoff in the works. It has been speculated that the spinoff will follow a character currently on the series. Marvel has recently been expanding, with the premiere of the Netflix series Daredevil two weeks ago.
Ridley is known for his Academy Award winning work as an executive producer on the film 12 Years A Slave, which he also wrote. He is set to write and executive produce the upcoming remake of Ben Hur.
