The spec, written by Matt Lieberman from a story he and “Safe House” scribe David Guggenheim came up with, is pitched in the vein of ‘Super 8’ and ‘Chronicle’ and follows two brothers who set out to prove that Santa Claus is real, using their home video camera. The boys get more than they bargained for when they end up joining Santa’s epic Christmas Eve ride. After inadvertently causing Santa’s sleigh to crash, the brothers need to work together to save Christmas.
Guggenheim is attached to produce through Madhouse Entertainment.
Lieberman’s spec “Personal Security” is currently in development with Hugh Jackman attached to star and he is working on the script for “Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride”. He is repped by Simon Faber, Roger Green, Philip Raskind at WME and Adam Kolbrenner at Madhouse Entertainment.
