The next Bourne film has one of its villains. Vincent Cassel has signed on to play a aprt simply known as “The Asset” – a word used by spy agencies to refer to someone who is hired, coerced, or tricked to work for them, and a word used in the past Bourne films to refer to assasins that went through the same training as Jason Bourne, a role that Matt Damon will be returning to in this film.
The fourth film in the series (fifth in the franchise when you add in 2012’s spinoff, The Bourne Legacy) from Universal will be directed again by Paul Greengrass. Greengrass directed the second and third films, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, and is writing the script with Matt Damon and Christopher Rouse.
Cassel is most well known in the US as the main antagonist from Ocean’s Twelve and his amazing turns as the choreographer in Black Swan and a London gangster’s psychotic son in Eastern Promises. He is repped by CAA and Adequat.
