〉 Lee joins over 150 Launch Pad writers who have landed representation in just three years.

We are pleased to announce that 2016 Launch Pad Pilot Competition writer Joanne Lee has signed with APA agents Amanda Hacohen and Nathan DeRemer just as her original comedy pilot UNPLANNED was named to the Top 50 of the 2016 Launch Pad Pilots Competition.

Pitched as Veep meets Knocked Up, Unplanned follows a conservative pundit who has to keep it together while balancing her mother’s Presidential campaign, an affair with a liberal Senator, and an unexpected pregnancy, all of which test her political, moral, and ethical ideals in an ever-changing world.

Her script impressed Launch Pad readers with its sharp dialogue, biting satirical humor, and intelligent political point of view, effortlessly utilizing over-the-top melodrama and real life parallels to craft a hilarious and witty sitcom setup.

Raised on Long Island by South Korean immigrant parents, Lee went on to attend Harvard and Wharton, before working at Goldman Sachs, in the nonprofit world, and in digital media business development. It was a culmination of these experiences that led her to the world of comedy writing, studying improv and sketch comedy with UCB, and landing her first gig as a showrunner’s assistant.

Congratulations Joanne! We can’t wait to see what’s next!
