Netflix’s National Lampoon movie A FUTILE AND STUPID GESTURE continues to fill out its cast with Rick Glassman and Jon Daly tapped to portray Harold Ramis and Bill Murray respectively.
The film is based on Josh Karp’s book which follows Doug Kenney, co-founder of National Lampoon. He becomes a victim of his own success when he develops a substance abuse problem while writing the films Animal House and Caddyshack – comedies that would become iconic after Kenney’s death.
Glassman and Daly join previously cast Will Forte as Kenney, Martin Mull, Joel McHale, Thomas Lennon, Domhnall Gleeson, Jackie Tohn as Gilda Radner, and Matt Walsh.
David Wain is set to helm the project with a script from Michael Colton and John Aboud. Peter Principato and Jonathan Stern produce with Wain, Colton, About, Ed Helms, Sean McKittrick, and Ted Hamm executive producing.
Glassman starred in sitcom Undateable and previously appeared in FX series The Comedians. Daly is best known for his work on The Kroll Show and most recently appeared in Zoolander 2.
Glassman is repped by CAA and 3 Arts Entertainment. Daly is repped by UTA and Principato-Young.
