Aaron Eckhart is set to join Tom Hanks in Warner Bros.’ forthcoming Captain Sully drama, formally titled MIRACLE ON THE HUDSON, which follows the incredible heroics of pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger. Sullenberger made headlines when he safely landed a plane in the Hudson river after both engines were destroyed by a flock of geese, saving all 155 lives on board. The pic is based on the memoir Highest Duty: My Search For What Really Matters written by Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow.
Hanks is on board to play Sully, while Eckhart will portray Jeff Skiles, the first officer and co-pilot who assisted Sully with landing the plane. Todd Komarnicki scripted the true story drama, with Clint Eastwood directing.
Eckhart most recently starred in Olympus Has Fallen and I, Frankenstein. He’ll next reprise his role as President Benjamin Asher for the sequel, London Has Fallen. Eckhart will also appear in the sports drama My All American, the Miles Teller boxing drama Bleed For This, and the real-time action/thriller Live!
Eckhart is repped by CAA.
