New Line has picked up Adam Brooks to pen the script for NO BAGGAGE, the film adaptation of Clara Bensen’s article “The Craziest OkCupid Date Ever.” Based on Bensen’s real life experience, the film follows a couple who embark on an eight-country, three-week first date grand adventure after meeting through the online dating site OkCupid. And all without bringing along any luggage. Jennifer Gibgot and Adam Shankman are producing through their Offspring Entertainment banner with Andrea Johnston and Dave Neustadter overseeing for New Line.
Brooks wrote the screenplay for the Halloween-season favorite “Practical Magic,” which stared Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as sisters and witches. No stranger to romantic comedies, he also scripted Universal Picture’s “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason” and “Definitely, Maybe.”
Brooks is repped by WME.
