Streaming service Hulu is teaming with comedy actor Adam Pally on a new series based on an interesting premise: a parody Twitter account. Specifically, the Los Feliz Daycare account run by Jason Shapiro, who will also pen the series. Pally will executive produce via his Clone Wolf banner.
The account, which started at the beginning of 2013 and has since gained over 88,500 thousand followers, pokes fun at modern-day parenting and childcare. One of their most recent tweets from earlier in the week reads: “We want all of our toddler friends to speak their truths and express their feelings openly so we’re encouraging them all to start podcasts.”
There is no further synopsis for the project, which The Hollywood Reporter first revealed.
Erik Richter has been tapped as showrunner and he will also co-write and exec produce the show. Ben Stricof of Clone Wolf and Greg Walter and Josh Lieberman will also produce.
Pally most recently appeared in the sitcom Making History before it was canceled after one season by Fox. He’s previously worked with Hulu in his recurring role on The Mindy Project and also executive produces Comedy Central’s new program The President Show. He’s repped by UTA and 3 Arts Entertainment.
