The truth is out there — and it’s about to get funny. Fox has tapped comedy favorites, Adam Scott and Craig Robinson to star in GHOSTED, a riff on The X-Files.
The single-camera comedy was given a pilot production commitment from Fox and reunites the Hot Tub Time Machine 2 co-stars. The series is being described as a comedic take on the popular cult sci-fi series and centers on a cynical, hilarious skeptic, Leroy Wright (Robinson), and a genius “true believer” in the paranormal, Max Allison (Scott), who is hired by the Underground Investigative Service to look into the rampant “unexplained” activity in L.A. — all while uncovering a larger mystery that could threaten the existence of the human race.
Tim Gormican is set to write the script and executive produce alongside Scott and Robinson. Naomi Scott, wife and producing partner of the Parks and Recreation alum, will also serve as an EP under their Getting Rad Productions shingle along with Mark Schulman and Oly Obst from 3 Arts Entertainment.
Scott is probably best known for his role on Parks and Recreation. He can be seen next in HBO’s adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s Big Little Lies. He also stars in the upcoming indie My Blind Brother opposite Nick Kroll and Jenny Slate.
Known for his role in The Office, Robinson currently stars in the lauded USA series Mr. Robot and appeared on the big screen in the Sundance favorite Morris From America. He can be seen next in the ensemble comedy Table 19 with Anna Kendrick and Lisa Kudrow.
Scott is repped by WME and Rise Management.
Robinson is repped by UTA and 3 Arts Entertainment.
