Adam Wingard has been chosen to direct spy-action movie, DEAD SPY RUNNING with his partner Simon Barrett also set to pen the re-write for Warner Bros. Wingard is replacing Stephen Gaghan as director while Barrett is taking over writing duties from previous scribe Jamie Moss.
The story revolves around a young spy who has to prove the innocence of his legendary spy father as well as stop a terrorist bombing of a historic peace treaty signing. Film is adapted from the book series of the same name by Jon Stock.
Producing will be McG, Kevin McCormick and Jeanne Allgood.
Wingard and Barrett’s past work, as director and writer respectively, includes “A Horrible Way to Die” as well as the upcoming found footage film “V/H/S” and the critically praised horror film “You’re Next”.
