Adepero Oduye is the the most recent addition to the all-star cast of THE DINNER. Directed by Oren Moverman and based on the bestselling Herman Koch novel, Oduye joins Richard Gere, Rebecca Hall, Steve Coogan, Laura Linney, and Chloe Sevigny.
The film takes place at a dinner with Paul and Claire Lohman (Coogan and Linney) and Paul’s celebrity politician brother, Stan (Gere) and his wife Barbara (Hall). The tense relationship between the two brothers escalates when the secrets about the couples’ children begin to surface — this includes a horrendous crime committed by the Lohman kids. No details have been given about the role Oduye will play.
Cotty Chubb, Lawrence Inglee, Eddie Vaisman and Julia Lebedev will serve the producers of the film under the Code Red, ChubbCo and Blackbird production banners. Leonid Lebedev, Angel Lopez, Olga Segura and Eva Daniels have stepped in as exec producers.
Oduye came into the spotlight with her breakthrough performance in Dee Rees’s indie, Pariah. She has since starred in 12 Years a Slave and most recently, the Academy Award-nominated The Big Short. Her TV credits include Louie and Lifetime’s adaptation of Steel Magnolias.
She is repped by ICM and Atlas Talent Agency.
