Elusive director Adrian Lyne has signed on to direct SILENT WIFE starring Nicole Kidman. The project is set to introduce itself to potential buyers at the upcoming American Film Market. The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by A.S.A. Harrison.
The film follows an affluent Chicago couple who’ve been together 20 years and alternates between their respective point of views as the husband cheats behind his wife’s back. When the wife discovers the affair, a plot to murder her spouse begins to unfold.
The script was adapted by Billy Ray. Kidman has been attached to the project since 2013 and is producing with partner Per Saari through their Blossom Films banner. Lyne will also produce with Paul Mazur and Mitchell Kaplan of the Mazur/Kaplan Company. CAA is repping the film and FilmNation is handling the international sales.
This is Lyne’s first directing project since another infidelity-focused feature, Unfaithful starring Diane Lane. He has also directed Lolita, Nine 1/2 Weeks, and Fatal Attraction.
Kidman and Lyne are both repped by CAA. Kidman is also repped by Shanahan Management in Austrailia and Media Talent Group.
