One of the hottest European projects out of AFM, ANNETTE, has announced the addition of some star power with Adam Driver and Rooney Mara attached to star. The feature is described as a music-filled drama from cult French director Leos Carax.
Production is expected to begin in late spring. The film follows the rise and fall of an intense love story, played out by Driver and Rooney. It will also include the key crew that worked on Carax’s critically acclaimed Holy Motors.
Carax has had a long film career that has included directing such feature films as Boy Meet Girl, Mauvais Sang, and Les Amants du Pont Neuf.
Since bursting on the scene in Lena Dunham’s Girls, Driver has appeared in such films as Star Wars: The Force Awakens as Kylo Ren and the Coen Brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis. He next stars in Martin Scorsese’s Silence.
Mara is best known for starring in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and opposite Cate Blanchett in Carol.
Driver is repped by Gersh.
Rooney is repped by WME and Management 360.
