Holmes, Wood and Mamet will star as the Barnacle sisters brought up New York by their wealthy self-made father Barry (Rickman). Becoming increasingly frustrated by the carefree lives of his daughters, Barry sets up a challenge for his daughters to compete in order for them to claim their inheritance.
Niederhoffer will produce along with Amy Hobby, while Pascal Degove and Nick Quested serve as executive producers. Garbus will direct the Amy Lippman penned screenplay.
Rickman is most widely recognized for his role as Snape in the internationally popular Harry Potter franchise. He is also credited with roles in Lee Daniels’ The Butler, Alice in Wonderland, and in the 2007 adaptation of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Rickman can soon be seen in Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass and in Eye in the Sky. He is currently attached to Kevin Smith’s television series, Hit Somebody.
In her youth, Holmes played Joey Potter in the cult classic tv series Dawson’s Creek. She has been credited with roles in The Giver, Jack and Jill, and Batman Begins, among smaller projects. She recently finished production in Woman In Gold and Mania Days and will soon begin directing and producing the drama All We Had.
Woods is known for her roles in The Wrestle, Across the Universe, and Thirteen. She recently wrapped on two films, Into the Forest and Viena and the Fantomes, and is attached to the drama Facing The Wind, which is currently in pre-production.
Star of the HBO hit comedy drama GIRLS, Mamet, recently finished filming drama Shiva and May, drama Outliving Emily, and the comedy Goldbricks in Bloom. She is currently filming Steven Bernstein’s drama, Dominion.
