Alan Tudyk is set to star as King Candy in the upcoming video game animation feature WRECK-IT RALPH. He joins voice actors and cast members John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jane Lynch and Jack McBrayer. Details on his role relative to the story were not made available. Rich Moore will make his feature directorial debut on the film, which follows a video game villain as he jumps over to another more advanced game in order to finally be the hero. Although there are a number of video game features, Disney’s effort will attempt to capture the real essence of the game, as the characters will jump from game to game. Disney Animation, not Pixar will produce the feature.
Tudyk, who was last seen on the bog screen in “Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon,” can also be seen in “Beautiful Boy” and the hilarious “Tucker and Dale vs. Evil.” He just completed production on “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,” and has moved into production on “Ice Age: Continental Drift.”
He is repped by Gersh and The Coronel Group.
