Alec Baldwin, Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Sudeikis have all signed on to join the cast of DOWNSIZING. The project, which has been in development since 2009, finally gained some legs when Reese Witherspoon officially confirmed her involvement this week. From Alexander Payne, the film follows a man who, down on his luck, decides he can have a better life if he undergoes a process to shrink himself. The trio’s roles are currently under wraps, but they’ll join Matt Damon, who stars. Payne will direct from a script he wrote with Jim Taylor.
Baldwin recently appeared in the Oscar-contending drama Still Alice. Up next, he has a multitude of projects, including Mission: Impossible 5, Boss Baby, and Caught Stealing. Harris has had a banner year, as notably finished his nine-year run on the CBS series How I Met Your Mother and channeled his inner Anthony Perkins to deliver a dark performance in David Fincher’s Gone Girl. Next, the in-demand actor will host the Academy Awards and will voice a lead in Pixar’s animated heart-warmer The Good Dinosaur. Sudeikis recently returned to star in Horrible Bosses 2. He’ll next star in Sleeping with Other People, Tumbledown, and Mastermind.
