Amblin Acquires Supernatural Pitch “Unexplained Phenomenon” from “Paranormal Activity” Writing Duo

The pitch from Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension’s and has been acquired by in a preemptive deal. Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman of The Picture Company will produce.

Plot details are being kept under wraps for the project, but reports say there’s a hope for multiple films about a variety of supernatural occurrences. The title itself is a reference to the FBI classification for incidents that were investigated and defy logic.

The history of Amblin, famous for films like E.T. and Close Encounters of the Third Kind should also be an indicator of the nature of this film and its potential as a classic sci-fi vehicle.

The Picture Company has another project, The Travelers from Straight Outta Compton writer Jon Herman, set up at Amblin.

Deutschman and Pagan also wrote the sci-fi film Project Almanac. Plus, they have several in , including House on Haunted Hill at Warner Bros. and two television series — The Eight at NBC and Run and Gun at USA.
