Neil Marshall will direct the adaptation of Mike Mignola’s comic book Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen. Marshall also directed the horror movie The Descent and worked on Game of Thrones, so given his history of creating hauntingly beautiful imagery, I think he’s a great choice to update Hellboy.

Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman will produce with Lloyd Levin and Larry Gordon, as well as of . Production will take place overseas this fall.

McShane’s recent credits include DeadwoodAmerican Gods and John Wick, the latter two of which are Lionsgate properties. He’s represented by , , and Sloane Offer. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news of his casting.
