Amy Ryan, David Strathairn and Devin Druid have signed on for Joachim Trier’s LOUDER THAN BOMBS. The drama follows a father and his two sons who struggle to move on after the death of their wife and mother and uncover the mystery of her life. Gabriel Byrne is set to star as the father with Jesse Eisenberg and Druid playing his sons. Isabelle Huppert has been cast as their late wife and mother.
Ryan began her career starring in gritty dramas like “Gone Baby Gone” and HBO’s “The Wire,” before her stint as Holly Flax on “The Office.” Since then, she has gone back to more dramatic fare in films like “Breathe In,” biopic “Devil’s Knot,” and Alejandro González Iñárritu’s upcoming “Birdman.” Her next projects include Columbia Pictures’ adaptation of “Goosebumps” with Jack Black, as well as Steven Spielberg’s untitled Cold War thriller opposite Tom Hanks.
Strathairn has had a long history of roles in crime dramas from “L.A. Confidential” to “The Bourne Ultimatum” to “The Whistleblower.” His more recent films include biopic “Lincoln” and Gareth Edwards’ take on “Godzilla.” Next up, Strathairn will star in the sequel “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” and lend his voice to the Lincoln documentary “The Gettysburg Address.”
Druid, the newcomer of the bunch, has had a short stint on comedy series “Louie” and is currently filming the HBO miniseries “Olive Kitteridge.”
