“Office” alum Amy Ryan joins Paramount’s part live action, part animated adventure pic, MONSTER TRUCKS. While plot details are being kept under wraps, the project will be somehow based on Hasbro’s Monster Trucks line. Ryan will play a single mom trying to make ends meet while raising her teenage son.
While I loved her as Holly, Michael’s quirky other half on “The Office,” you may know her from her more dramatic turns in “Gone Baby Gone” and “Escape Plan.” Either way, this is sure to be a departure from the kind of role that normally attracts her attention. Hopefully she can hold her own against the CGI monster trucks that I’m sure will plague her character.
Also attached are actress Jane Levy and director Chris Wedge. Levy plays Tessa on “Suburgatory” as well as appearing on Showtime’s “Shameless.” Wedge is best known for his animation work which includes “Ice Age” and “Rio.”
Ryan is repped by Gersh.
