Amy Schumer has been tapped to showcase her dramatic acting chops in the DreamWorks Pictures film, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. Adapted from the book of the same title by David Finkel, the film follows a group of U.S. soldiers adapting back to family and civilian life after returning from the war in Iraq.
The stand-up comedian joins a large ensemble including Miles Teller, Haley Bennett, Joe Cole, Beulah, Koale, Scott Haze, Keisha Castle Hughes, Brad Beyer, Omar Dorsey, and Jayson Warner Smith. The film marks the directing debut of Jason Hall, who not only wrote the script for Thank You For Your Service, but also penned the Academy Award-nominated screenplay for American Sniper.
Jon Kilik will serve as the producer and Ann Ruark has signed on as executive producer.
Schumer had a banner year in 2015 with the release of her comedy, Trainwreck, which was written by her and directed by Judd Apatow. She is currently developing a yet-to-be-titled film with Jennifer Lawrence.
She is repped by UTA.
