The awards season is ramping up. The nominees for the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced this morning in Los Angeles. Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars) and actress/director/producer and SAG Award recipient Eva Longoria were on hand to announced the nominees for this year’s awards.

Birdman lead the features pack with four nominations, including Outstanding Cast, and star Michael Keaton grabbing a nom for Outstanding Male Lead.  Benedict Cumberbatch was acknowledged for both his film and TV work, getting nominations for  his roles in Sherlock and The Imitation Game. Perennial award show favorite Modern Family earned four nominations while Boardwalk Empire, House of Cards, Homeland, and Game of Thrones all ended up with three noms a piece.  Orphan Black‘s Tatiana Maslany, Orange Is the New Black‘s Uzo Aduba each grabbed their first, and much deserved, nominations, while Jennifer Aniston was also awarded her first nomination for her starring role in the indie drama Cake.  Overall, HBO lead the TV side, pulling in 14 nominations for shows like Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire.
