The 72nd Annual Golden Globe Award nominations were announced this morning in Los Angeles. Kate Beckinsale (Underworld), two-time Golden Globe Award-nominee Peter Krause, Paula Patton, and Golden Globe winner and five-time nominee Jeremy Piven were on hand to announce the names. They were joined by Hollywood Foreign Press Association president, Theo Kingma, Dick Clark productions’ Barry Adelman, and Miss Golden Globe, Greer Grammer.
The expected award season darlings like Birdman, Imitation Game, and Boyhood all made strong showings, with Selma and Foxcatcher rounding out the Best Motion Picture, Drama category. Jennifer Aniston picked up a nomination for her leading role in Cake, although her former co-star Lisa Kudrow was not recognized for the return of The Comeback. On the TV side of things, Modern Family found itself snubbed for the first time in three years and Big Bang Theory will also have to be satisfied with its SAG nominations.
Tune in to NBC Jan. 11 to find out who ends up with a Golden Globe this year.
