Andrew Garfield continues to be one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood as he signs on to star in UNDER THE SILVER LAKE and is in talks for the Andy Serkis-directed BREATHE.
Silver Lake is described as a modern noir crime thriller set in Los Angeles. The project is written and will be directed by David Robert Mitchell.
The project hails from Michael De Luca Productions with De Luca producing alongside Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, and Adele Romanski. Lucy Kitada will oversee for De Luca Productions. CAA packaged the project which will be on offer at Cannes.
Serkis’ Breathe is based on the true story of Robin, a handsome, brilliant, and adventurous man whose life takes a dramatic turn when polio leaves him paralyzed. Garfield would star as Robin.
Also in talks for the film is Claire Foy who would play Robin’s devoted and determined wife, Diana. Together Robin and Diana refuse to be imprisoned by his suffering, traveling the world and transforming the lives of others with their humor, courage, and lust for life.
The Imaginarium Studios’ Jonathan Cavendish is producing with Embankment selling the film at Cannes and co-repped domestic rights with CAA. BBC Films is co-financing.
Foy will be seen this summer starring Netflix’s event series The Crown as Queen Elizabeth II, which was written and created by Peter Morgan. She is repped by Independent Talent Group.
Garfield will next star in Mel Gibson’s WWII drama Hacksaw Ridge and Martin Scorsese’s historical epic Silence. He is repped by Gordon and French and CAA.
