Angelina Jolie In Talks To Board “Murder On The Orient Express”



Academy Award-winner is in talks join the remake of MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS. She would star opposite Kenneth Branagh, who will also direct the film.

The film follows Belgian detective Hercules Poirot who’s tasked with solving the case – in which a number of passengers could potentially be the murderer. It is based on the novel by Agatha Christie.

The first cinematic version was made by Sidney Lumet in 1974 and starred Albert Finney, Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergman, Jacqueline Bisset, Colin Blakely, Sean Connery, John Gielgud, Anthony Perkins Vanessa Redgrave, and Michael York. It was nominated for six Academy Awards, winning one for Ingrid Bergman, and grossed $35 million in the U.S.

Michael Green is adapting the book for the screen. Branagh, Ridley Scott, Simon Kinberg, and Mark Gordon produce. Steve Asbell is overseeing for Fox.

Jolie most recently starred in and directed By The Sea, as well as lending her voice for Kung Fu Panda 3. She wrote and directed First They Killed My Daughter for Netflix, which is due out later this year.
