YouTube star Anna Akana has joined the cast of HELLO, MY NAME IS DORIS. The dramedy stars Sally Field as a hoarder and cat lady in her sixties who becomes obsessed with a younger man who starts working at her company. “The New Girl’s” Max Greenfield and “Orange is the New Black” star Natasha Lyonne are also part of the cast. Akana will play a YouTube sensation in the project, which was written by Michael Showalter, who will also direct.
Akana is best known for her make-up tutorial spoof “How To Put On Your Face” and for her role in sci-fi drama “Riley Rewind.” She also had a guest role on ABC Family’s “The Fosters.” Next up, Akana is set to appear in the fantasy project “Kids vs. Monsters.”
