Academy Award-winner Anne Hathaway is heading to TV, set to produce and star in limited series THE AMBASSADOR’S WIFE. Based upon the Jennifer Steil novel of the same name and inspired by her own experiences as the wife of a British ambassador to Yemen, the drama series follows the kidnapping of an American woman in the Middle East, and the heartbreaking choices she and her husband make to see each other again.
The Mark Gordon Company is producing and financing. Regarding Hathaway’s casting, Mark Gordon stated, “We are so fortunate to have Anne starring in this timely, gripping, and compassionate drama. She is in a league all her own and we cannot think of anyone who can better portray Steil’s complex heroine.”
Hathaway most recently appeared in the indie drama Song One and in Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi hit Interstellar. She’ll next appear opposite Robert De Niro in Warner Bros.’ heartwarming comedy The Intern and in the Brad Ingelsby drama The Burning Woman.
She’s repped by CAA and Management 360.
