“Atlanta” and “Better Things” Renewed at FX

FX isn’t wasting any time with two of their breakout comedies. The network has renewed ATLANTA and BETTER THINGS for a second season. The double order of renewals has the two shows returning for 10 episodes.

Atlanta, created Donald Glover, follows two cousins who work through the Atlanta music scene in order to better their lives and their families’ lives. Glover stars in the series alongside Brian Tyree Henry and Keith Stanfield. The series had the best premiere numbers for any basic cable primetime scripted comedy in over three years in the 18-49 demo.

Better Things, comes from creator Pamela Adlon, who also appeared in FX’s Louie. The series follows a single working actor (Adlon) as she raises her three daughters. Better Things is the most-female driven show for FX in the network’s history, receiving strong reviews from critics
