Aubrey Plaza And Elizabeth Olsen Set For Dark Comedy “Ingrid Goes West”



Parks and Recreation alum and Captain America: Civil War star will enter the world of social media obsession in Mike Spicer’s dark comedy INGRID GOES WEST.

The story centers on the titular Ingrid Torburn (Plaza), a mentally unstable woman who becomes obsessed with the seemingly perfect life of social media star and “influencer” Taylor Sloane (Olsen). When Ingrid decides to drop everything and head to the West Coast to become her friend in real life, her behavior becomes unsettling and increasingly dangerous.

The film is currently in in with Spicer in the director’s chair. Spicer also co-wrote the script with David Branson Smith. Plaza is set to produce alongside Jared Ian Goldman as well as Tim & Trevor White from Star Thrower Entertainment and Adam & Robert Mirels from 141 Entertainment. Mary Solomon, Rick Rickerstein and Allan Mandelbaum are set as executive .

Plaza recently appeared on the big screen in the comedy Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates with Zac Efron, Adam Devine and Anna Kendrick. She appears in the upcoming The Little Hours with Alison Brie and Dave Franco and will star in FX’s adaptation of Legion, based on the character from the Marvel comics.

Olsen recently starred in the Hank Williams biopic I Saw the Light opposite Tom Hiddleston. She also stars in the Weinstein Company’s upcoming Taylor Sheridan thriller Wind River opposite Avengers: Age of Ultron co-star Jeremy Renner.
