Austin Film Festival Announces 2016 Screenplay Competition Finalists

With the 2016 Austin Film Festival around the corner, the finalists for the fest’s annual screenplay competition have been announced. This year, 45 scripts were chosen for the Final Round with one winner to be determined in each of the 11 categories. Out of this year’s group of Finalist scripts, 44% include a female writer and international entries include writers from Australia, Canada, Denmark, Great Britain, and Spain.

The winners will be announced during the Conference at the Awards Luncheon on Saturday, October 15 at the Austin Club. Winners will receive cash prizes ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, reimbursements for , and lodging while at AFF, and access to and recognition by some of the most important writers, agents, producers, and filmmakers in the industry.

The Austin Film Festival runs from October 13 – 20, and we’ll be there to cover it all.
