Yesterday we wrote that Josh Friedman would help pen AVATAR 2. Now that’s been expanded into a series of writers. Friedman will drift with Cameron on AVATAR 2, Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver will form a pyramid of writing power with Cameron on AVATAR 3 and Shane Salerno will secret handshake with Cameron on AVATAR 4. That’s right, there’s going to be three Avatar sequels and they’ll all be shot SIMULTANEOUSLY.
Cameron has successfully gone full Peter Jackson. And as Jackson with “The Hobbit” has shown us… You NEVER go full Jackson.
Friedman is best known for “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” and “War of the Worlds.” Jaffa and Silver penned the surprisingly good “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” and have written the sequels “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” and “Jurassic Park IV.” Salerno co-wrote “Armageddon” and most recently wrote “Savages.”
Cameron, Salerno Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver are repped by CAA. Friedman is repped by UTA.
