Captain America: Civil War directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo are attached to executive produce a television series adaptation of the Image Comics’ series DEADLY CLASS from Rick Remender and Miles Feldsott. With the series is set up at Sony Pictures TV, producers are expected to start shopping the package to networks and streaming services.
Co-created by Remender and artist Wes Craig, Deadly Class is an unlikely coming-of-age story set against the backdrop of late 80s counter culture which follows a disillusioned teen recruited into a storied high school for assassins. Remender and Feldsott will executive produce with the Russo brothers and Mike Larroca, of the Russo’s Getaway Productions. Banshee’s Adam Targum will serve as showrunner.
The Russo Brothers, who won an Emmy for their direction of Mitchel Hurwitz’s Arrested Development pilot, are currently in the works with Avengers: Infinity War.
Remender will appear at San Diego Comic-Con at the Image Comics booth on Friday from 1:00-2:00pm and Saturday from 4:00-5:00pm.
