Michael Trucco of Battlestar Galactica fame is joining the cast of SCANDAL as Charles Putney, the previously unseen and abusive ex-husband of Abby Whelan (Darby Stanchfield), the White House press secretary. Though he hasn’t yet appeared on screen, Charles was married to Abby for four years in a political arranged union before he attacked and physically assaulted her. With help from Olivia (Kerry Washington), Abby successfully filed for divorce from Charles. His return is exactly the kind of scandal this show is known for.
Trucco starred as Samuel Anders on the reimagined sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica. He also recently guest-starred on two episodes of CBS’ Criminal Minds, “Angels” and “Demons.” His upcoming role on Scandal is a return to ABC for Trucco. He was featured in several episodes of Revenge, the network’s drama about the daughter of a framed executive who makes it her mission to infiltrate upper Hamptons society and exact revenge on the people who set her father up.

Scandal airs Thursdays at 9 pm on ABC.
