Beau Knapp and Keith David have been cast as the villains in THE NICE GUYS. The period crime thriller stars Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling as a recovering alcoholic and a private investigator, respectively, who are brought together by the suicide of a fading porn star in the 1970s. Together, they launch an investigation after the girl’s aunt swears she saw her niece after her “death” and find that the conspiracy is more far reaching than they expected. Knapp has been cast as an accident prone hitman, while David will play his older partner. Shane Black and Anthony Bagarozzi penned the script for Warner Bros.
Knapp recently broke into the business with roles in Super 8 and sci-fi thriller The Signal. Most recently, he appeared in the drama You’re Not You with Hilary Swank, Emmy Rossum, and Josh Duhamel. Next up, Knapp has been cast in Antoine Fuqua’s drama Southpaw, as well as Craig Gillespie’s thriller The Finest Hours.
The veteran of the two, David has appeared in everything from Platoon in 1986 to There’s Something About Mary and Armageddon in 1998 to his more recent work in Cloud Atlas. His upcoming projects include drama The North Star, crime/drama Boiling Pot, and The Guilty Innocent, which also stars Knapp.
