Just after Monday’s announcement of his attachment to Backstabbing for Beginners with Josh Hutcherson, Ben Kingsley is up for another hot AFM title. Kingsley is now set to star in Brad Silberling’s thriller, AN ORDINARY MAN. Enderby Entertainment’s Rick Dugdale is producing and financing the project, With Electric Entertainment handling international sales at AFM.
The film follows a war criminal who falls in love with his maid while in hiding. The trust between the two is tested as authorities close in. The project was originally announced in 2009, but got lost through multiple casts and production companies. First Liam Neeson, and then Brendan Gleeson were set to star, and Abbi Cornish was originally set to play the maid, now played by Hera Hilmar.
Kingsley as just recently seen in The Walk, based on the true story of the tightrope walk between the WTC towers. He will soon be heard as the voice of Bagheera in Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book. He is repped by CAA.
Hilmar is repped by 42.
