Ben Schwartz has been hired to write the remake of the 1991 film, SOAPDISH, for Paramount. Originally directed by Michael Hoffman and starring Sally Field, Kevin Kline and Robert Downey, Jr., the comedy/romance followed an ambitious TV soap actress who connives with her producer to scuttle the career of the show’s long-time star.
Castle Rock’s Rob Reiner will produce with Alan Greisman.
Schwartz is repped by WME and Tom Sawyer Entertainment.
