Ben Whishaw will star in LONDON SPY, an upcoming series from Working Title Television. The BBC Two spy drama centers on Danny, a fun-loving guy who gets caught up in the world of British espionage after falling in love with an enigmatic man who suddenly disappears. Tom Rob Smith penned the script for the show, which will air sometime next year.
Whishaw is probably best known in The States for his role as Q in “Skyfall,” which he will reprise for Sam Mendes’ upcoming “Bond 24” film. He has also appeared in dramas like “Brideshead Revisited,” “Cloud Atlas,” and “The Zero Theorem” opposite Christoph Waltz. Whishaw also starred in the BBC drama series “The Hour.” Among Whishaw’s many upcoming projects, he has been cast as the voice of the iconic bear in “Paddington,” replacing Colin Firth who previously voiced the role. Whishaw also joins the cast of Ron Howard’s “Heart of the Sea” as Herman Melville.
