Benicio Del Toro Circling “Predator” Reboot

Sicario star is in talks to headline 20th Century Fox’s PREDATOR reboot. The Nice Guys writer-director Shane Black is set to direct the project.

The original film bowed in 1987 starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of an elite special forces team who are on a mission to rescue hostages from guerrilla territory in Central American while being stalked and hunted by a technologically advanced form of extraterrestrial life. Black actually appeared in the film as a member of Schwarzenegger’s crew. The film was written by Jim and John Thomas in 1985 and spawned two sequels, Predator and Predators, as well as two crossover films with the Alien franchise, Alien vs. Predator and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.

Del Toro is currently attached to Soldado, the sequel to Sicario, which will be directed by Stefano Sollima with a script from Taylor Sheridan. He is also signed on for a role in Star Wars: Episode VIII opposite Daisy Ridley and Mark Hamill. This next installment is being written and directed by Rian Johnson.
