At Berlin next week, IM Global and WME will be introducing the thriller SIBERIA for international buyers and domestic rights, respectively. Keanu Reeves is attached to star in the project, with Frank & Lola helmer Matt Ross directing. The script was penned by Scott B. Smith.
In the film, Lucas, an American diamond trader, travels to Russia to meet his partner Pyotr, but finds himself on a very different mission when Pyotr goes missing. While searching, Lucas meets Katya, a cafe owner, and gets drawn into a dangerous affair.
Gabriela Bacher of Summerstorm Entertainment and Stephen Hamel of Company Films are producing.
Expect to see Reeves in the headlines even more soon, as his sequel to the well-liked 2014 John Wick film opens next Friday. Another project, To the Bone, just sold at Sundance and the post-apocalyptic film The Bad Batch is currently awaiting release after premiering at Venice last year. He’s repped by WME.
This will be Ross’ second feature film following last year’s Frank & Lola. He’s also a creative consultant on the CMT series Nashville. He’s repped by WME and MGMT Entertainment.
